How our self-guided bike tours work

Our self-guided bike tours are designed for travelers who enjoy riding independently, without a group schedule or a guide cycling beside them. You set the pace, decide when to stop, and enjoy the day in your own way.

At the same time, you are not left to manage everything alone. We take care of the logistics behind the scenes, so you can focus on the ride and on the places you are discovering.

Most of our self-guided tours can start on the date that works best for you during the season. You travel only with your own party, whether you are a couple, a group of friends, or a private small group.

Self-guided travel also offers more flexibility than a guided group tour. Depending on the itinerary, it may be possible to add a rest day, extend the trip, or adjust a stage to better suit your plans. There is no minimum participation required, no need to wait for a group to form, and no risk of cancellation due to low numbers.

Before your trip, we provide the information you need to ride confidently from one stop to the next. Routes are shared through Ride with GPS, with app-based navigation and offline access, so you can follow the itinerary easily during the tour. If you prefer, you can also download the tracks and use your own device.

You will also receive trip notes and practical information to help you understand each stage, your accommodation, and the day-by-day flow of the trip.

You can choose the bike that best suits your riding style and the itinerary: e-bike, gravel bike, road bike, hybrid, or e-gravel. On our self-guided tours, we offer the same care in bike quality and setup that we provide on our guided trips. Learn more about our bikes and equipment.

Your rental also includes the essential equipment appropriate for the tour, such as a helmet, lock, water bottle, smartphone holder, rear light, and, depending on the bike type, bags and other useful accessories.

We organize the main logistics for you, including your accommodations and luggage transfers between overnight stops. That means you can ride with just what you need for the day, without having to carry your bags from hotel to hotel.

This balance of independence and organization is one of the main reasons travelers choose self-guided tours.

Although you ride independently, support is available if needed during the tour. If an unexpected issue comes up, we can assist with mechanical, logistical, or personal matters — whether it is a bike problem, a practical issue along the route, or simply a day when you are too tired to continue riding as planned.

Self-guided does not mean unsupported. It means traveling more independently, with professional planning and backup behind the scenes. If you are unsure which tour suits you best, you can also check our riding levels.
