Here the verdant hills give way to little domes of clay and Tuscany reveals another face of its identity, an unusual, almost lunar landscape of chalk cliffs and gullies soaked in a primeval atmosphere. We’ll walk along one of the most beautiful and suggestive unpaved roads in the region, among isolated farmhouses and breathtaking vistas of the most secluded area of the Crete.Pic-nic lunch at the Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore, one of the most interesting in Italy. Then, continuing eastward along the rolling hills of the Asso and Orcia valley, scored by olive groves and rows of vineyards, we’ll reach our final destination: Montepulciano, pearl of the 17th century and famous for its Vino Nobile. We’ll then visit the church of San Biagio, just outside the city, one of the finest buildings constructed in the 16th century. Let’s finish our day in a special way, we’ll have a hands-on cooking class followed by a delicious dinner with the classic Tuscan dishes we’ll have made ourselves!Hotel in Pienza relais il chiostro

Then we’ll take the dirt road that leads to the minuscule hamlet and tower of Vignoni and arrive in Bagno Vignoni, a tiny village with a water-filled square whose thermal hot springs have been enjoyed since Roman times and had been made famous by illustrious regular visitors such as Lorenzo Il Magnifico e Saint Catherine from Siena.
